Ehren participated in the La Jolla Summerfest 2005 Young Artist Concert working with composer Bruce Adolph.  He has played with the International Youth Symphony in 2005 and 2007.  As a member of CBDA All-State Honor Band he was selected to join the Wind Symphony conducted by Thomas Lee of UCLA.  He was selected for Command Performance the past three years as a participant in the SCSBOA Solo and Ensemble Festivals.  He works with the Tri-M music society to introduce music to the 4th graders in Poway through the “Meet the Instruments” program and he teaches trumpet to elementary students.  One of his passions is musical theater and he has played in the pit for 42nd Street, Guys and Dolls and Oklahoma.

He enjoys martial arts and has earned his black-belt.  He is an Honor Student, loves reading, math and science and is enthusiastic about swing dancing.

When asked what he likes about big band jazz Ehren replied: “It’s great in every way, but mainly that you can play with a different energy and style in big band”.  He considers himself flamboyant, out going and social and “I just love to play, I have a hard time just sitting around!”

His advice to young musicians: “Be out going, try hard and have fun.”

The attitude and charm that this young artist possesses is mystical and mesmerizing.  When you meet him you immediately know he’ll succeed in anything he pursues.  He leads the trumpet section of the Jazz Ensemble with pride, confidence and musical maturity.  Ehren is a key to the success of the ensemble and his contributions are amazing and remarkable.  Ehren is another rising star on the verge of greatness in music.
