Justin is a 2008 graduate of Westview High School and is planning on attending CSU Long Beach.  He says of big band jazz “It play good ole’ classic swing!” Justin likes music, dumb jokes, sleeping, and eating but dislikes stupid people.  He was the first place winner in the National Reflections Composition Contest.  His advice to another young musicians just starting out: “Be crazy!  Musical talent does not smile upon the sane!”

It is not often you hear a flute in big band jazz, but the talent that this young artist brings to the Jazz Ensemble is powerful.  He can bust out with some swinging licks when asked to solo.  We will be watching him as one of the foremost composers of the 21^st Century.
