Profile Starting at age three, music dominated Vince’s life. By age 13 he was studying piano with Frede Grofe and conducting with Pierre Monteux of San Francisco Symphony. At age 16 he was chosen most talented young pianist in California. Conducting was always a passion and while still a teenager he became the conductor of Sonoma Philharmonic and assistant conductor of Napa Symphony Orchestra. In the 1970’s a long association as staff pianist with “Harrah’s Club South Shore Room Orchestra” in Lake Tahoe began. This was followed by his taking the position as conductor of Florida Lyric Opera, Clearwater and Dunedin Symphonies further filling his passion for the baton. The love of arranging for orchestra and “Big Band” helped to find his arrangements used in the shows of Sammy Davis Jr., Danny Thomas, Wayne Newton, Karen Valentine, Jack Jones, Susan Anton, and many more. Arriving in San Diego in the early 80’s Vince found a new niche in life as president of an Aerospace Company. A position he held till 2005 when the business was sold and he retired. Once again the musical life beckoned and the thrill of performing took overwhelming control of his future. A busy concert schedule now dominates Vince’s time and working with talented and gifted young artists fills the desire to see others step up and be recognized. Look for his CD’s “The Piano”, “Piano II 2007” and “Piano III 2007.” They all feature his amazing students and the band: “The Jazz Ensemble.”
